Col Barron

COL DENNIS D. BARRON, CAP

Col Dennis D. Barron is the Vice Commander - West of Civil Air Patrol's Middle East Region.  Col Barron was the commander of the West Virginia Wing from October 2009 to October 2014.  Prior to serving as wing commander, he was the wing chief of staff from 2005 to 2009 and was the wing inspector general from 1996 to 2005.  

 

Before going to wing staff, Col Barron served as the commander of the Martinsburg Composite Squadron for 20 years.  He has commanded the West Virginia Wing cadet encampments for the last 40 years.  Col Barron joined CAP as a cadet in January 1965. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Political Science and Sociology from Shepherd College and holds two Master’s Degrees from West Virginia University, one in Counseling and one in Communications. Col Barron is employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
